Established in 2001, the African Union sets out to achieve greater unity and solidarity within the African Continent. Next to facilitating economic integration and collaboration, its humanitarian and developmental programs fosters stability and prosperity amongst its Member States. While it is still a relatively young international organ, its importance as an international body of governance has grown rapidly. The most important decisions made are done within the Assembly of the African Union, which is the body which will be simulated at this conference.

I am a Tunisian/Libyan law student currently living in Nice. My MUN journey started in January 2016 and I have had the pleasure of attending several MUN conferences across Europe and North Africa, in varied capacities. Being passionate about regional cooperation and integration, I am thrilled to be chairing the African Union. Looking forward to a delightful conference in Maastricht!

Hey guys! My name is Maha Nayyer. I live in Pakistan and am currently studying Business Administration. I pursued my passion in public speaking 6 years ago, and ventured into both parliamentary style debating as well as Model United Nations. I was a delegate at EuroMun in 2016, so I already have a good idea of how amazing and exciting it will be. Can’t wait to see you all!
