The tale of people seeking refuge from manmade chaos, natural disasters and other uncontrollable forces putting lives at peril is as old as time. The agency responsible for protecting and supporting refugees has bloomed into the UNHCR. The work of the UNHCR is rather extensive as they are responsible for seeking lasting solutions to those displaced through conflict and provide material assistance in the form of food, shelter, medicine, education and other. The Committee sets out to model the steps and considerations taken in order to create the regulations and policies needed to achieve these goals.
