What is EuroMUN?
EuroMUN is is a Model United Nations conference that has been held annually in Maastricht, the Netherlands, since 2007.
Where is EuroMUN 2018 taking place?
The location of EuroMUN 2018 is the MECC conference centre. Adres: Forum 100, 6229, Maastricht, the Netherlands.
When is EuroMUN 2018 taking place?
EuroMUN 2018 will take place from the 10th until the 13th of May 2018.
Who can attend EuroMUN 2018?
EuroMUN is the second largest Conference of its kind in continental Europe. It is held on a University level and we strive to attain academic excellence. Hence, only university students are eligible to apply to the Conference apart from some exceptions. Additionally, in order to participate delegates have to be at least 16 years of age and no older than 30 years of age before or on the date of May 10th, 2018 . To participate in the social program delegates need to be 18 years or older, with the exception of our Gala Ball. Individuals not enrolled in university participating in EuroMUN 2018 will go through a different registration process and will be accepted to attend in limited numbers.

What is the official language of the conference?
Is there a minimum attendance requirement to get my certificate?
Delegates may miss a maximum of 30% of session before losing their right to a certificate
Is there a dress code?
During sessions of the conference participants are required to dress up in formal attire.
When do registrations open?
Registrations will open on the: 1st of December 2017.
When does registration close?
Registration closes on 31st of March 2018. However, country allocations are processed, in addition to merit, on a first come first served bases and preferences might already be taken. Therefore we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
How do I register?
Registration is done via our portal on MyMUN: https://mymun.net/muns/euromun-2018. Once submitted, we first have to accept your application before payment can occur. You can find more information on our registration process here.
What information do I need for the registration process?
We will ask you for detailed personal information as a well as questions pertaining to your passport for the Visa process if applicable. Additionally, you may be asked for a motivation letter or a CV for certain countries and committees.

Can high school students participate?
We do accept a small number of high school students. They need to be at least 16 years old and need to apply through the normal application procedure. High school students will only be able to participate in “Beginner” level committees. Acceptation of the limited number of high school students allowed to participate in the conference will be decided upon on the basis of merit and first come first serve. They are not allowed to purchase a Social Package and can only participate in the Gala Dinner event, tickets for which can be bought separately at the conference.
I cannot make it to the Conference, how do I get my money back?
Cancellations are possible up until April 20th, 2018. Should cancellation occur, the following refund policy will apply:
- Cancellation within two weeks from application: full amount of the conference fee and/or social events (€85,-/ €100,-/€33.02,-)
- Cancellation within one month: 50% of the conference fee (€42,50/€50,- respectively)
- Cancellation within two month: 25% of the conference fee (€21,25 /€25,- respectively)
- No refunds can be claimed more than two months after the application
- No refunds will be issued for social events more than two weeks from purchase.
- No refunds will be issued in case of a revoked certificate
If a participant should cancel his or her participation, a transaction fee of 5 Euros will be deducted from any money reimbursed. The MyMUN processing fee of 6% is not refundable. For further information, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
How many members may a delegation have?
A delegation is counted as such, if it contains more than or exactly four members. A maximum number is not set.
I am Head Delegate, how can I register the other members of my delegation?
To sign up a delegation, follow the below steps:
- Sign up on MyMUN as head delegate
- Send a link to the delegates that you intend to invite to your delegation. This can be done in 2 ways:
- For the delegates that already have an MyMUN account, you can send them a direct invitation to their MyMUN profile (and they will receive an automatic email from MyMUN).
- For the delegates that don’t have an MyMUN account, you can send them a link that is produced by the MyMUN portal after the creation of the delegation, to which they can both register and create a MyMUN account.
- The delegates must individually finish the registration to EuroMUN through the link of the delegation or through the invitation received on their MyMUN profile.
Note that Delegates cannot be added to a delegation if they do not sign up through the delegation link.
Country and Committee Allocations
When am I/is my delegation being allocated?
Allocations will take place on a weekly basis. However, delegates cannot be allocated until they have completely filled out their profile, their application has been accepted, indicated their preferences and EuroMUN has received the payment.
Is there the possibility to participate in a double delegation?
We will have double delegations for the Spanish language Mercosur committee.
Do I have to write a motivation letter?
EuroMUN requires a motivation letter for all committees with a specific importance for the Joint Cabinet Crisis, “Expert” / “Advanced” level committees and high school applicants. It aids us in making a fair and informed decision regarding allocations based on merit as well as choosing another option if the preferences are not available anymore.
Where do I find the study guides?
You can find study guides for all committees on our website and on MyMUN once the respective Chairs have readied them.
How and when do I have to submit my position paper?
The deadline for the submission of position papers has yet to be announced. Position papers are submitted through the MyMUN system.
How much is the registration fee?
We will have an early bird fee of €85 for the first hundred applicants applying as delegate or head delegate. After that date the fee will be €100,-. The fee for faculty advisors will always be €85,- and for observers always €100,-.
How do I know that you received my payment?
As soon as we receive your payment MyMUN will send you an e-mail of confirmation or a notification. This also serves as the official Invitation Letter. Your steps within the registration are then completed. The EuroMUN Team will allocate you as soon as possible with consideration of your committee and country preferences.
I have registered but the internet broke down before I was able to access the payment step, what do I do now?
Try to log on to your MyMUN account and continue the application process saved as a draft by MyMUN. However, if you cannot log on to your account or the application is not saved as draft, the whole registration failed and you will have to register again with the activation link.
Does the conference fee also include accommodation?
The Conference fee does not include accommodation, however you can find information on our recommended local accommodations here (to be announced).
Does the conference offer free meals?
The conference will offer free lunch every day for the duration of the conference, coffee and tea during the coffee breaks, water, and a small breakfast.
Are there any evening activities planned?
For every evening there will be exciting social events, four in total. A schedule will be outlined in the Conference booklet and published on the EuroMUN website: here (to be announced). All of these activities are voluntarily. The costs for the social package include all social activities. These are therefore not included in the conference fee directly. You can book the Social Program via our registration platform for only 35 Euros. The social package can also be purchased at the registration desk at the conference, for 38€. I am from outside the European Union, do I need a Visa?
Please check whether you have to apply for a Visa in order to participate at EuroMUN 2018. Note that EuroMUN only issues visa letters but never guarantees nor hands out a Visa.
I need to apply for a Visa, what do I have to do?
This mainly depends on the country you are registered in and how long you intend to stay in the Netherlands. For detailed information please contact the embassy of the Netherlands in your country.
Are you giving out Visas?
EuroMUN itself is not giving out any Visas, nor is it responsible for any problems that may arise during the application process. However we can provide a Visa letter for your Visa application procedure. Please inform us of your situation and personal information so we can help you in that process.
What we can do for you concerning the Visa?
We want to stress that applying for a Visa may at some point turn out to be more difficult and time consuming than expected. Therefore, we advise you to apply for a Visa as soon as possible. We are willing to support you by issuing Visa letters. As soon as you paid, activated and filled out your delegates profile successfully, you can request a Visa letter via email (email@example.com) and we will send the letter to you in PDF format, which can be handed in at your embassy.
I need a formal invitation letter for my Institution/University, what do I do?
If you would like an Invitation letter for your institution, please let us know by sending us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. In this email please state the official name of the institution, the name and the official title of the person the letter should be addressed to and an email address. We will then proceed your request as soon as possible, as soon as payment for the conference has been made.
How do I get to Maastricht?
Maastricht is located in the heart of Europe and is therefore easily reachable either via train, car, plane, or bus. The closest airport is Maastricht-Aachen Airport. You will also be able to conveniently arrive at Dusseldorf International Airport, Cologne/Bonn Airport, Eindhoven Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport or the airports in the Brussels metropolitan area.
Will transportation in the city be provided?
Once checked-in at the registration desk, you will be able to use the Arriva bus network in Maastricht for free if you show the driver the badge you receive. This will only be available during the duration of the conference.
Scholarships & Financial Aid
Can I receive a scholarship or any other form of financial aid from EuroMUN?
Unfortunately, at this point we are not able to provide any kind of scholarship or financial aid for EuroMUN 2018.
