Ismail (23) was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt where he attended a German foreign school until 2013. Upon graduating, he moved to Munich to pursue a degree in Economics at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) where he is currently enrolled in its Graduate School of Economics. Growing up in Egypt and actively witnessing the Arab Spring at the age of sixteen made Ismail develop a growing interest in politics and international affairs. He attended his first
Model UN conference in 2011 and, eight years and countless conferences later, still considers every conference he attended, whether as a delegate, as a chair, as part of the organizing team
or as the conference’s Secretary-General, an enriching experience on an academic as well as on a personal level. Ismail will be serving as your Chair of the World Trade Organization at EuroMUN 2019, with International Trade coincidentally being his specialization at university. In his free time, he enjoys playing, watching (and ranting about) football and occasionally cooking traditional Egyptian meals.
