After the first day with many new impressions and faces, de Muziekgieterij opened its doors for the Welcome to Maas’ food truck festival. Against the scenery of an old carpentry-turned -music venue, the EuroMUN team hit the nail on the head by offering a cozy night under the stars to get to know each other on night one.
Maastricht’s finest food trucks were ready to feed the hungry delegates after their debates with a variety of foods, from bratwurst to fish and chips, to burrito’s and the occasional falafel. While the live band played the night away, the delegates came closer together, and not just around the campfire. Perhaps it wasn’t just thoughts on topics that were exchanged, but phone numbers and a little more, too? For those who did not get to try the Maastricht cuisine, not to worry: Jack Whites’ Fish and Chips and With Love Burritos are both centrally located in the heart of Maastricht for you to try out on any other night of your stay here, for equally friendly prices. If you’re looking to try more of the Burgundian lifestyle of the Maastricht inhabitants, grab some drinks at specialty beer café’s de Gouverneur or Falstaff, have some cocktails at Beez, or dig into some typical Limburgian ‘zuurvlees’ with fries in order to carb-up before the parties. Alternatively, if you are to impress your new EuroMUN date, we’d advise you to aim for the stars and check out ‘Beluga’: we promise you, success guaranteed.
With three more nights of socials, we can only hope that the first night gave a taste of what Maastricht has to offer, and got you all the more excited for tonight’s Club night at Complex. It sure will be out of this world. See you there!
